Enovacom and Medanets join forces to provide mobile first health data

A partnership between global interoperability firm Enovacom and Nordic nursing app specialist Medanets will enable nursing staff to access patient data through their mobile devices.

Medical device data will be automatically gathered using Enovacom’s Patient Connect interoperability platform and fed through to the hospital’s electronic health record (EHR) and to the Medanets’ mobile nursing app in real-time.

Juha-Matti Ranta, Medanets chief executive officer (CEO), said: “By helping nurses with tools that are the most time-saving, such as observations, our app becomes an integral part of their workflow.”

France announces €650 million boost for digital health 

French health minister Olivier Véran has announced an investment plan of €650 million to accelerate the country’s digital health strategy.

The funding will be divided between five areas with a majority of €202 million allocated to boosting France’s leadership in research and innovation.

An additional €168 million, will be used to fund experimental programmes to test innovations in digital health services.

Other funding areas include digital training for healthcare professionals, scientific innovation and large-scale deployment of digital health in France and internationally.

Around €100 million, will be allocated to projects selected within the “Santé numérique” framework in early 2022.

 

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to build shared care patient record with Orion Health

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough’s integrated care system (ICS) has signed an eight-year contract with Orion Health to develop a shared care record that will be used by eight health and care organisations and all the GP practices in its area.

The shared care record will take data feeds from the IT systems used by health and social care providers and create a single, holistic view of a patient’s medical and care information.

Spring 2022 will see the first phase of the project launched, with a second phase due to follow later in the year.

Dutch medical AI-company Thirona closes financing round

Health tech firm Thirona, which specialises in artificial intelligence (AI) for medical image analysis, has closed a financing round with Belgian investment fund HERAN Partners and Borski Fund from the Netherlands.

The company develops AI solutions for both lung and retinal image analysis. As well as from focusing on the most common diseases such as asthma, COPD, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, Thirona is also tackling rare and complex conditions, such as cystic fibrosis and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Proceeds of the financing round will be allocated to accelerate the company’s transition towards market leadership in medical imaging.
