Watch a Bodybuilder Take a Brutal Leg Kick from UFC Star Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson

In a YouTube video that went semi-viral, bodybuilder Houston Jones learns the hard way just what it feels like to tangle with a professional mixed martial arts fighter after he dares Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson to kick him in his meaty legs.

While Thompson has a reputation as one of the best strikers in all of UFC, he also comes from a full-contact kickboxing background, where he enjoyed an undefeated streak of 58 professional matches. In other words, his legs count among the most dangerous weapons in his arsenal.

Thompson starts off by demonstrating his prowess on a 100-pound kicking bag. He knocks it over with a single kick, using by his own estimation around “55 percent” of his strength, before giving Jones a taster of what’s to come by kicking him while he holds a padded shield.

“I’ve actually broken a femur before,” Thompson warns, before delivering a kick to Jones’ quads and sending him hopping across the gym in pain. “I actually felt femur,” Thompson remarks.

He then switches up his fighting style, going for karate-style kicks to Jones’ giant hamstring using the top of his foot. But after flooring the bodybuilder a couple more times (and causing some dramatic bruising), Thompson is the one who begins to suspect he might be injured after feeling some serious pain in his foot.

“I have a fight coming up, and I may need to go get an X-ray or two,” he says. “This is not normal. I’ve never had this happen before. I’m doing the kicking, and yet I’m the one hurting.”

Jones hobbles away, claiming to feel no worse for wear at all, despite the enormous bruise blooming on his right hamstring. Not long after, feeling the need to avenge his own good name, he returns to Thompson’s gym and challenges the fighter to punch him as hard as possible in the stomach. Some people never learn.
