More than 80 per cent of US children will suffer earaches by the time they are three years-old, according to studies.
Usually the result of a viral infection, the problem can lead to agonizing pain – and are the reason for around 30 million trips to the pediatrician every year.

The clip she shared – which has been viewed more than 200,000 times – shows the Doctor of Pharmacy demonstrating the remedy which she says will make the pain vanish ‘within a few days’.
How YOU can perform Dr Dori’s earache remedy at home
1) Dip a paper towel in hot water
2) Place the sodden tissue in the bottom of a glass.
3) Place the glass tight against the ear. This will ‘create a vacuum’ and heat, which relaxes the muscles in the area and promotes better blood flow, easing the feeling of tightness.
Dr Dori , who has 587,000 followers on the platform, begins dipping paper towel in hot water, before placing the sodden tissue in the bottom of a glass.
Next, she places the glass tight against her ear. This will ‘create a vacuum’ and heat, which helps with the earache, she says.
Earaches are commonly the result of a blockage in the ear canal. This is typically due to fluid that has built up in response to an infection. The liquid causes excess pressure behind the eardrum, which causes the pain.
Experts say that while there are a number of paid-for treatments, simply using a hot vacuum around the ear canal can cause the liquid to drain out, reducing the blockage.
The heat also relaxes the muscles in the area and promotes better blood flow, easing the feeling of tightness.
But earache isn’t the only ailment that Dr Dori tackles with her unconventional hacks.
In another video, which has had nearly 5million views, the pharmacist suggests gently massaging the thumb above your knuckle can alleviate a sore throat.

Meanwhile, another shows her pushing on the pressure points on either side of her ears while opening her mouth in a bid to relieve the ringing sound of tinnitus.
‘These hacks have worked for my patients,’ Dr Dori says.
Other suggestions shared by Dr Dori are not supported by mainstream US medical bodies, such as rubbing Black Seed oil and Rosemary oil on the scalp to prevent hair loss.

The pharmacist also advises rubbing the spice turmeric on joints to treat sports injuries like sprained ankles and even arthritis flare-ups.
‘All you need to do is mix a teaspoon of turmeric powder with a teaspoon of honey just to hold it together and a dash of Epsom salt or even regular table salt,’ she says in one video.
‘Apply to the affected area, cover it up with gauze and then put some saran wrap on it.’ When repeated over two to three days, this will ‘work like magic’, she says.
Some studies suggest turmeric can help joint pain, but few have shown benefits in humans
Numerous studies have suggested that turmeric boasts anti-inflammatory properties for the joints due to its level of a powerful compound called curcumin.
However, few human studies have found significant benefits for conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis.
Research has also shown that the amount of curcumin in store-bought supplements is too little to serve any health benefits.
